2009 World Cup Fly Auction Guidelines There are birds from several countries in this auction. Be sure to only bid on birds from your home country. Bids on birds outside of your country will NOT be accepted, unless you have investigated and can meet the rigid importation requirements and costs, which may include the hiring of an Importation Agent. Bidding – Any and all bids placed for items in this auction will be considered Legal Binding Contracts between the bidder and the World Cup Roller Fly. Bids will be accepted by email, telephone, or regular mail. When placing your first bid, you must supply your valid name, address, and telephone number. All bids will be in U.S. dollars and in $10.00 increments unless otherwise stated. To bid on an item online, click on the link “bid on item” on that item, and your email program will open up with an email to Carl Braker. The subject line of the email should list the item number that you are bidding on, so be sure it is correct. If we receive more than one identical bid for an item, the bid received first will be accepted, and the other bidders will have to re-bid that item. Bidding closes at 10:00 PM PST promptly, July 15thProxy Bids – We encourage proxy bids, especially for bids sent through regular mail. When sending a proxy bid, tell Carl the highest amount you are willing to pay for a bid item, and he will automatically place a bid for you that is $10.00 over the highest bid received, until you either win the bid, or your limit is reached. Your proxy bid will be confidential and will not be released to anyone. Paying for bid items – Bidders that win the bids will have 14 days after the closing date to get a check/money order to Carl Braker for deposit into the World Cup Fly bank account. Personal checks will be accepted from bidders within the U.S. only, but certified checks or money orders are preferred. All payments from other countries must be money orders for the correct amount in U.S. dollars. Currency exchange rates can be calculated very easily by going to www.x-rates.com and using their currency calculator. We can accept bank transfers for any additional fees. Bank transfers must be pre-approved and coordinated by 2009 World Cup General Coordinator Ron Duncan at Hunter101552@aol.com Failure to pay for an item that you won the bid on, within the allotted time, will be considered FRAUD against the World Cup Fly. Make all checks/money orders payable to World Cup Fly, and send to : Carl Braker 318 W. Orchard St. Fredericksburg, TX 78624Shipping – After payment to the World Cup Fly has been received and verified, the World Cup Fly Promotions Coordinator will notify the donor of the item with the name of the winning bidder, and to accept shipping arrangements. The winning bidder will be responsible for all shipping costs. Those winning bids for birds donated from outside of the U.S. will be responsible for all importation, and shipping fees. Shipping fees must be paid to the donor in advance, and in addition, the bidder must provide the donor with a new shipping container, sent directly from the supplier. This prevents inadvertent contamination of a donor’s loft. The shipping container must be of the proper size for the quantity of birds being shipped. Some parts of this country have reported problems shipping live birds through the U.S. Postal Service. It is the responsibility of the bidders to contact the postal service to determine shipping requirements and availability from the donor’s area. Here are some links to suppliers of approved shipping containers: ( insert links to Horizon, Jedd’s, Foy’s, Global ) Liability – The World Cup Fly, as a third party to these transactions, accepts no liability for any damages incurred by these transactions above the amount of the bidding price for the item. Bidders should insure all payments and shipments to protect their investment, and the World Cup Fly will not be liable for any shipping, exporting, importing and/or transporting costs. Fraud – Any person fraudulently placing bids, failing to pay for bids within the allotted time, paying with a check on an account with insufficient funds, or committing any form of fraud against the World Cup Fly fundraisers or donors will be banned from participating in any future fundraisers. We reserve the right to publish the name of any person committing fraud against the World Cup Fly fundraisers or donors, so do not place any bid that you don’t intend on paying for.
